South Denver Spine

Pain Areas: Neck, lower.

Indication: Compression of the spinal cord in the neck (cervical spine) or lower back (lumbar spine), often resulting in shooting pains in the arms (cervical) or legs (lumbar). Pain often develops slowly over time and comes and goes. It is commonly relieved by leaning forward, sitting or lying down.

Consultation: Typically starts with a review of your medical history and a physical exam. Diagnosis is typically confirmed with an X-ray or MRI.

Treatment: May include non-surgical options (exercise, anti-inflammatory medication, epidural injections, and activity modification) or back surgery.
