Zak Ibrahim, MD is a board certified Orthopedic Spine Surgeon and a Partner in South Denver Spine, PC.
Originally from Minnesota, Dr. Ibrahim completed Medical School at the University of Minnesota in 1991. He was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society for his academic accomplishments while in Medical School. He then went on to complete a prestigious Orthopedic Surgery residency at Rush-Presbyterian-St. Luke’s Medical Center in Chicago, Illinois in 1996. Finally, Dr. Ibrahim completed his sub-specialization in the field of Spinal Surgery at the University of California, San Diego in 1997. During his time there, Dr. Ibrahim was the lead author on numerous scientific publications and several book chapters.
Dr. Ibrahim is well-trained in all areas and techniques of advanced spinal surgery. His special interests currently include cervical spinal surgery and disc replacement, minimally invasive spinal surgery, and robotically-assisted spinal surgery. Dr. Ibrahim was among the first surgeons in the US to utilize robotic guidance for spinal surgery. To date, he has performed more robotically-assisted, minimally invasive spinal surgeries than any other surgeon in the Denver Metropolitan Area.
Dr. Ibrahim started South Denver Spine, PC in 2007. He has been integral in developing the Parker Adventist Hospital Spine Team and recently has been named Medical Director of Spinal Surgery at Parker Adventist Hospital. Dr. Ibrahim is committed to advancing the practice of Spinal Surgery through research and continuing education. He frequently speaks to other surgeons on topics ranging from surgery of the deformed spine, minimally invasive spinal surgery, and robotically-assisted spinal surgery.
